Astrology and health are intricately related. Our body is a consequence of the actions of the planetary system. The nine months inside a mother’s womb are distinctly related to the nine planets and the Solar system. Evolution has a spectacular symmetry with the revolution of heavenly bodies. A foetus revolves inside water just as revolution of a planet is central to its very existence. Strangely, displacement of a body is found to be intrinsic to its true placement! The planets classified according to them are Moon (Chandra),Mercury (Budha),Venus (Sukra) and Saturn (Sani) for Wind or Vata, Sun (Ravi) and Mars (Kuja) for Bile or Pitta, Jupiter (Guru) for Phlegm or Kapha. The important combinations in a horoscope which allude to a heart problem:

1. Sun and Saturn conjoined in evil houses
2. The fourth house having Mars with Ketu
3. The Moon afflicted in an inimical house
4. The lord of the sixth house and Sun with a malefic in the fourth house
5. Jupiter, Mars and Saturn in the fourth house
6. Saturn in a quadrant and Moon in the seventh house with Rahu
7. The sign (not ascendant) of Scorpio having the Sun, Jupiter afflicted by a weak Mars and the sixth lord being malefic
8. Three malefics in one house while the Moon is afflicted in the fourth house.
9. Sun and Saturn being in the sixth house conjoined or aspected by a malefic and the ascendant occupied by Mercury.

These are of course the combinations warranting a close look at the situation of the heart. Nevertheless, a detailed study of several aspects should be carried out before arriving at a conclusion.

Well. An examination of several horoscopes of persons who were found to have had a heart problem revealed that Mars and Rahu were connected to the Sun and the fourth house. The Sun is found to have been afflicted and connected to the lords of the sixth or eighth and the fourth or fifth lords or the houses stood afflicted.

Medical Astrology demands attention to the fact that the houses are more important than the lords. A clear connection needs to be established with the lords of the sixth or eighth. Mere combinations should not be read as contributing to disease.

Well. When should one be concerned about a heart attack?

Having established a combination after studying all configurations that there is an element of suspicion regarding the heart, the planetary periods wherein the period or sub period of the planet(s) owning or occupying the second or twelfth from the Sun or the fourth lord and the period or sub period of the lord of the sixth or eighth houses from the ascendant should be approached with caution. There can be a dispensation where the heart’s functioning taking prominence during this period. This is how a precaution can be exercised.
